CHILD CUSTODY
The wellbeing of your children is always one of a client’s greatest concerns in a divorce and/or custody circumstance. When faced with this most important aspect of your divorce or custody proceeding, you need an experienced child custody lawyer who will help you use Nevada law to serve the best interest of your children. Child custody has different meanings that will be explained to you in detail whether you are dealing with joint legal custody, joint physical custody, or primary physical custody, we have experience in child custody law and will help you make the best custody arrangement for your children.
CUSTODY MODIFICATION
The overwhelming public policy of the State of Nevada is to make custody and visitation arrangements that are in the best interest of the children. If you feel that previously agreed upon or ordered child custody arrangements are no longer in the best interest of your children, you should consult with an experienced child custody lawyer to discuss a modification of a prior order or agreement, we are well suited to negotiate a new agreement or take the necessary steps to go to Court and obtain a modified order to serve the best interests of your children.
VISITATION
Visitation by parents with their children following a divorce or custody proceeding are important to maintain parent/child relationships. The first, and most important, step is to obtain an order that allows both parents to have a continuing relationship with their children depending upon geographical locations, time availability, work schedules, and other circumstances that can make the negotiation of a visitation agreement difficult. We have experience negotiating visitation agreements that enure to the best interest of the children. Sometimes, however, one parent may seek to interfere with the other parent’s visitation and steps must be taken to prevent one parent from interfering with the other parent’s visitation. We have the courtroom experience to litigate visitation disputes. It should also be understood that there may be circumstances where one parent may not be a suitable guardian or custodian, a circumstance which requires certain limitations that can be discussed and presented to the Court for adoption. The negotiation of a visitation agreement is sometimes complex where parents live apart or other circumstances make it difficult to consistently exercise visitation rights. Under these circumstances, our lawyers have the experience to make recommendations that respect the public policy of continued relationships between parent and child when simple time schedules are not workable.
VISITATION MODIFICATION
Sometimes a working agreement or order regarding visitation becomes difficult to exercise as a result of changed circumstances. Work schedules can change. One party may need, or want, to move out-of-state. Circumstances of the children can change that make a previously effective agreement or order unworkable. In these circumstances, our lawyers are experienced in negotiating changes whenever possible, but they also have the courtroom experience to be an effective advocate on behalf of you and your children if modification of visitation agreements/orders are necessary.
